Kids at Work Safety Goggles

$10.00

These clear Safety Glasses provide protection to preschool or primary school children who are engaging in early scientific experiments or practical life experiences.

The Montessori philosophy empowers children to engage in healthy 'risk-taking', in terms of stretching their skills and embracing new experiences. A vital component of healthy risk-taking is helping children learn how to manage and mitigate the risks they encounter. One way of doing this is through the use of protective equipment, such as Safety Goggles.

In addition to minimising risk, these Safety Goggles can also help children to feel confident emulating the adults and older role models in their lives. Children who have seen scientists, builders, gardeners or other professionals wearing goggles will recognise that this is part of an adult 'uniform' for important work. Slipping on a pair of goggles of their own may offer a boost of confidence and excitement about their own abilities and maturity.

The goggles are made of a durable plastic designed to help protect the eyes. The flexible arms allow the goggles to be adjusted to different sizes and provide increased comfort.

These goggles are designed for children, but are flexible enough to also be used by adults if needed, making them excellent value in classroom contexts as well as at home.

Recommended for ages 4 + (the manufacturer recommends that these are not suitable for children under 4 years).

Please note: The goggles are not intended to be laboratory grade and we do not recommend their use around harmful chemicals or high temperatures. The goggles providing a barrier between the child's eyes and the tools and materials in front of them, but they do not meet the Australian Standards for Eye Protectors for Industrial Applications. They should not be used as a substitute for protective eyewear in an industrial setting (such as a building site). We encourage all adults to remember that protective equipment for children is never a substitute for supervision.
