A beautiful, high quality Number Puzzle which offers a sensory impression of each numeral along with a visual 

The Number Puzzle measures 28.5cm x 18cm.

Each numeral is quite large, with the 0 measuring around 6.5cm x 4.5cm. 

These numerals are quite solid, measuring approximately 1.5cm in height. When the piece is placed in its home on the puzzle board it still sits out by about .5cm so that it can be easily picked up.

The pieces deliberately do not feature knobs or handles. Instead the child is encouraged to hold each piece on its edges to experience its shape. This helps to create a tactile impression of the shape of the numeral. The child can feel the lines, curves and corners of each letter to help build a 'muscular memory' that reinforces numeral recognition.

The Number Puzzle encourages children to sequence the numerals in order from 0 to 9. The numerals could also be used and arranged out of the puzzle to experiment with other numbers - such as placing the 1 and 0 together to make 10.

The Number Puzzle comes in two styles - Natural Wood or Colourful. Please remember to choose your preference from the drop-down menu. 

The Natural Wood allows the beauty of the wood grain to shine through, with no distractions from the shape of the numerals. It offers a subtle point of interest in the form of the slightly contrasting light and dark stains on alternating numerals. This variation in colour also provides an opportunity to differentiate between the odd and even numbers.

The Colourful puzzle offers a slightly brighter look to spark a child's interest, but the coour stains are still subtle enough to let the grain of the wood show through. It also draws attention to pattern-making, as the colours progress on the first row of numerals (red - orange - yellow - green - blue) then reverse to descend along the second (blue - green - orange - yellow - red). 

The puzzles are made from sustainable plantation timber and are stained with non-toxic, child-safe materials.
