Fill Me Sensory Boards

An open-ended material designed to spark creativity and coordination, this set includes four wooden boards:

• Ring
• Snowflake / Flower
• Tree 
• Star

The Fill Me Sensory Boards come with 45 multicoloured balls to provide an engaging and inviting fine motor experience for children. As the child lifts the small ball with their pincer fingers (strengthening this pincer grip for writing!) and places it carefully in its corresponding groove, they are strengthening their precision, dexterity and hand-eye coordination. 

The Fill Me Sensory Boards can grow with your child. A little learner might initially focus on simply filling the board with colour. An older child can extend their use of the boards by focusing on creating patterns and sequences, or counting and comparing the number of beads on each board.

The presence of four boards allows for versatility, as educators or parents can present them according to different themes (such as the Christmas tree in December!) or children can take one each to work collaboratively as pairs or in a small group.

The Sensory Boards can also be used with other objects and experiences. Small pom poms fit perfectly in the spaces for transferring with tweezers. Beads and glitter can also be used for ephemeral art experiences. Ephemeral art occurs only once, or is temporary and transient, rather than being a lasting product. This puts the emphasis on the present moment experience!

The boards all measure approximately 15cm in height. The ring and snowflake/flower are approximately 15cm in width, the tree is 12cm at its widest point and the star is approximately 14cm at its widest point.
