Hand Drill with Drill Bits

$85.00

One of the most unique and engaging Practical Life tools I've encountered is the Hand Drill (ours comes complete with matching Drill Bits for your convenience). This fully functional and effective tool from Kids at Work encourages your child to get hands-on with construction and creativity.

The Hand Drill not only empowers a child to contribute meaningfully to their world, but also helps develop their motor skills. It requires coordination and strength to keep the drill in place with the handle while turning the the dial so that the drill burrows down into the wood. (As a side note, when my son was first used the drill this turning action sparked a great conversation about the words 'clockwise' and 'anti-clockwise'!)

The need for strength, focus and dexterity also means that the drill is an amazing outlet for BIG energy! It's a great way to purposefully and positively channel the need for movement into something productive.

I also love that the Hand Drill helps to promote sustainable attitudes by showing children that their body can generate power! It helps them develop an understanding that we don't have to depend on battery operated power tools when we have such capable and powerful bodies!

The Hand Drill comes with six drill bits in sizes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 so that your little learner can complete a range of different projects. The Drill measures approximately 26cm in length, and once a drill bit is inserted it can reach up to 34cm in length.

Recommended for ages 6+

Please note: The manufacturer recommends that this tool is not used by children under 6 years of age. You may notice that one of our product images features a younger child using it. This is my own child, in a controlled environment, with direct supervision, at my own personal discretion.
